Vocabull ("we", "us") is run by Brooker Systems. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short on purpose.
What we collect
- Your email address, which you give us when you sign up.
- The vocabulary file you upload from your Kindle, which contains the words you've looked up.
- Basic usage information, such as when you take a quiz, so the app works properly.
Why we collect it
- To run your vocabulary quiz, show your results, and send account or service emails. This is the core service you signed up for.
- To send you occasional updates or tips, but only if you ticked the box asking for them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.
How long we keep it
- We delete your uploaded vocabulary file once we've processed it.
- We keep your email address for as long as you have an account with us. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app, for example an email delivery service and a hosting provider. They only handle your data to provide those services to us, and nothing more.
When we generate quiz questions, we may send the word you looked up and its Kindle context sentence to an AI service provider so it can create the question. We do not send your email address or uploaded vocabulary file to that provider for this purpose.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No online service can promise perfect security, but we only keep what we need and delete files as soon as we're done with them.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Just email us at max@brookersystems.com.auand we'll sort it out.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top.
